The safety of pedestrians is of prime importance on our streets; however, few pedestrians give much consideration to motorists. They step into the crosswalks without breaking stride and expect drivers to stop on a dime for them. And then we must be on constant lookout for those who are paying attention to their cell phones instead of to what’s happening around them even when they’re crossing a street.
