Congratulations to Subaru. I just love the commercials with the dog families. Oh, how did they ever train those dogs to do that? I’m really enjoying them and my neighbors are too. It’s good to see a nice commercial for a change that you can really relate to. I just wanted to say that just for those commercials, I’m tempted to buy a Subaru. They are so creative. I really enjoyed it.

Jeb Bush is using the same model that his brother used to get us into Iraq — shock and awe. The thought of that just scares me.

I’ve got to say, I’m a little confused with all of this hubbub over the Little League World Series and Jackie Robinson West being stripped of its title. I thought we had gotten to the point in our society where every kid who happens to participate in an organized sporting event is automatically deemed a champion, haven’t we?

I like the story about New Lenox trying to quiet the trains going through the village. Let’s see, the Rock Island Railroad has been using that line since the 1860s. The farmers never complained about train noise, but the newbies do.

So the president took his veto pen to the Keystone pipeline bill passed by Congress, saying more time was needed to study the whole project. It has been studied for six years now, for crying out loud Mr. President! What’s the real reason you don’t want it?

With the cost and complexity of running a municipality increasing, may more towns like Ford Heights have to merge with neighboring ones? This may be particularly true of suburbs with populations under 10,000. If so, these mergers should be between towns that are economically and culturally similar.

As for the Orland Park senior citizen who complained about a lack of snow shoveling, has she asked an officer of their association (or the association’s management company if this is who handles day-to-day concerns) why this maintenance has not been done? I assume the senior is paying a monthly maintenance fee for upkeep of the common areas and grounds. After all, this is your property that is not being shoveled and plowed. Do something other than complaining anonymously in the newspaper.
