Sure, Loyola University Chicago’s mascots are known as the “Ramblers,” but this driverless golf cart took rambling to astounding new heights at the university’s Rogers Park campus. On Thursday, the seemingly possessed vehicle somehow drove itself in circles for several minutes before campus police stopped it.
Video of the hilarious (or terrifying) ordeal came courtesy of Joseph Bailey Jr., a Loyola junior. In an interview with DNAinfo Chicago, Bailey revealed he first saw the incident as he was longboarding from his organic chemistry class. He can be heard in the video saying, “I’ve never seen anything like this in my life, but this is probably the best thing I’ve ever seen.”
According to Aramark Services, Loyola’s food provider and owner of said demon cart, the vehicle malfunctioned. Apparently there were no injuries, DNAinfo reported.
Watch the clip below, which is worth it just to see the slapstick comedy of campus police trying to run down the golf cart.
