Each month the Naperville Sun profiles a member of the Naperville Newcomers and Neighbors Club, this month’s member of the month is Mary Kuzy.

Tell us about yourself:

My name is Mary Kuzy and I am 53 years old. I moved to Illinois with my husband, Dave. He works for Carus Corporation in Peru, IL. We have two children. Our son, 23, is a graduate of Louisiana State University with an electrical engineering degree. He is employed by Texas Instruments in Dallas. Our daughter, 19, is a freshman at Bradley University in Peoria and studying electrical engineering.

Where are you from and what brought you to Naperville?

I was born and raised in Akron, Ohio. I have moved eleven times in the 27 years I have been married. We have lived in North Carolina, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Jersey, Louisiana and Belgium. We moved to Naperville from Baton Rouge, LA.

We selected Naperville because of all the great amenities this town offers.

How did you find out about the NNNC?

I researched the newcomers club online prior to moving here. It is a great way to meet people in a new community.

What are your favorite activities in the NNNC?

I enjoy bunco, book club, daytime potluck, Let’s do lunch, and the larger monthly luncheons that feature speakers or entertainment.

Where do you live and why do you like it?

I live on South Main Street. I love it because I can walk to many different places (downtown, to Edward Fitness Center, the Riverwalk, bike path, Trader Joe’s and Casey’s)

What are your favorite things to do in Naperville?

I love walking on the Riverwalk and downtown to eat and/or shop. I also love to run on the bike path. My most recent new found activity is volunteering at Loaves & Fishes.
