Cedar Lake

Cedar Lake United Methodist Church: 7124 W. 137th Place — A church-sponsored chicken dinner will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Aug. 6 at Great Oaks Banquet Hall, 13109 Wicker Ave., Cedar Lake. Carry out will be available. The menu is chicken, French fries, coleslaw and dessert. Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for children 10 and younger. Trinity Baptist Church: 1831-1837 Virginia St. — The church and the Women of Trinity will present “Praise in the Park” from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Aug. 1 at Three Rivers County Park, 28 Colorado St., Lake Station. The focus is to turn up the praise for Women’s Month in October. The event includes prayer, a motivational speaker, games, prizes, food for the body and soul, and fun. Bring own Bible.
