Shane Williamson, cross country. Vernon Hills High School.
Why Shane deserves your vote: The cross country runner placed second overall and ran the ninth-fastest time in the history of the John Kurtz Early Bird Invitational at Fenton on Sept. 5.
Jake Wright, football. Grayslake North High School.
Why Jake deserves your vote: After moving from wideout just six days before the game to replace the injured quarterback, Wright went 14-for-25 passing for 245 yards and two TDs in a 31-26 football win over Lakes.
