Dealing Vicodin gets man 6 years

Steven D. Thompson, 33, of the 52000 block of Brookstream Circle, will also spend four years on probation after his prison sentence for his Oct. 19 plea to Class B felony dealing in a schedule I, II or III controlled substance. Thompson was also sentenced to the Purposeful Incarceration drug therapy program at Westville Correctional Facility and could have his sentence modified if he passes the program, Porter Superior Judge William Alexa ruled.
As part of Thompson’s plea agreement, the state dropped a charge of Class B felony dealing in a narcotic drug for allegedly selling four bags of heroin for $80 to a Porter County Drug Task Force informant at a County Line Road gas station in Portage in December 2013, court records state.
His conviction was for selling 40 Vicodin for $160 to a Task Fore informant the previous day at a fast food restaurant in Portage on U.S. 6, according to court documents.

A Portage man pleaded guilty to one of the three forgery-related felonies against him for incidents in 2013.
Cornelius M. Thompson, 32, of the 5600 block of Willowdale Lane, pleaded guilty Jan. 15 to Class C felony forgery, and the state will drop another Class C felony forgery and a Class C felony conspiracy to commit forgery as part of his plea when he is sentenced March 4.
His sentence is set to be two years in prison with no probation, but Thompson’s lawyer can argue for home detention, according to court records.

The state would drop the second charge of the same felony.
Saylor is accused of selling 10 Vicodin for $60 to a Porter County Drug Task Force informant on April 14 and again on April 20.
