Police are investigating after a Blue Island man was shot to death at a Robbins house party when two people started shooting at the home after they were barred from the party, a Cook County sheriff’s spokeswoman said.

Troy Thompson, 27, was pronounced dead at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn at 9:23 p.m. Thursday following the shooting in the 13500 block of South St. Louis Avenue in Robbins, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Sheriff’s police detectives were called to the home about 9 p.m. Thursday following the shooting, said Sophia Ansari, a spokeswoman for the office, in an email.

When detectives arrived they were told there had been a party at the home and two people were told they couldn’t come in, Ansari said. At least one of the two began shooting at the home, hitting Thompson, who had been at the party. The two then fled.

Thompson, of the 2000 block of West 119th Street in Blue Island, died of a gunshot wound that pierced his right arm and then his torso, the medical examiner’s office determined following an autopsy Friday.
