The 2016 Kane County Fair is set for Wednesday, July 20 through Sunday, July 24 at the Kane County Fairgrounds (Randall Road and Oak Street) in St. Charles.
The Kane County Fair is one of the oldest and long-standing fairs in the country.
“We’re proud to be 148 years and going strong,” said Larry Breon, Kane County Fair Board president. “Generations of families have walked our midway… We’re a great place where past traditions are honored and live comfortably with new ones.”
Live music planned for the Miller Lite soundstage includes The Boy Band Night, 7th Heaven, Hi-Infidelity, Hillbilly Rockstarz, Mariachi Tierra Jaliscience and Mariachi Universal.
The Hispanic/Mexican Charredo Show on Thursday has been added this year to the grandstand events, which require an additional admission charge. Professional championship bull riding will be in the grandstand on Friday and Saturday night and the Smash Em Bash Em Demolition Derby will take place on Sunday.
Daily outdoor family events include the Kane County 4-H, animal barns and competitions, the Swifty Swine racing pigs, the Sheer Magic Show, Petting Zoo and an appearance by Ozzie of the Kane County Cougars.
Indoors in the air conditioned Prairie Events Center building, shooting hoops, batting cages, floor hockey and an obstacle course will be among the interactive activities for kids.
