The following items were taken from Winnetka Police Department reports and press releases. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.
Exposure
*A Winnetka resident reported on Oct. 31 that a person exposed themselves to the resident in a seating area in the 800 block of Elm Street. The investigation is ongoing.
Fraud
*A resident of the 1000 block of Fisher Lane on Oct. 31 reported that their personal identifiers were used to illegally open a Chase Visa Amazon Credit Card.
*A resident of the 800 block of Ash Street on Oct. 31 reported that someone made unauthorized purchases on their credit card and attempted to open various credit card accounts. The amount of loss is $639.95.
*A resident of the 700 block of Oak Street on Nov. 2 reported that their personal identifiers were used to attempt to open a Discover Card. There is no reported loss at this time.
*A resident of the 1000 block of Elm Street on Nov. 2 reported that someone used the victim’s personal identifiers to open several AT&T wireless accounts. There is no reported loss at this time.
*A resident of the 1100 block of Ash Street on Nov. 5 reported that someone used the victim’s personal identifiers to open various department store credit cards. The amount of loss is $317.55.
Theft
*An iPhone 6 was taken from an unsecured gym locker at New Trier High School on Nov. 1 and was used to make made unauthorized purchases on the Uber application. The amount of loss is $855.41.
*A secured “Ricochet” bicycle was taken from a bike rack in the 1000 block of Gage Street, according to a Nov. 4 report. The amount of loss is $600.
*An antique sketchbook was taken from a store in the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue, according to a Nov. 4 report. The amount of loss is $500.
*An antique emerald ring was taken from a display cabinet on the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue, according to a Nov. 6 report. The amount of loss is more than $10,000.
