The Joffrey Ballet will return to New York for the first time in over 20 years. The Chicago-based company will perform Krzysztof Pastor’s “Romeo and Juliet” at Lincoln Center’s David H. Koch Theater, The Joyce Theater Foundation, Inc. announced Monday.

The production runs March 29-April 2 and will include a special gala performance of mixed repertory on March 30 including “Bells” by Yuri Possokhov, “Body of Your Dreams” by Myles Thatcher and Christopher Wheeldon’s “Fool’s Paradise.” The performances will be accompanied by The Joffrey Ballet Orchestra: Members of the Chicago Philharmonic.

In her four-star review for the Tribune, critic Laura Molzahn wrote that in the politically infused Oct. 2016 production, “The choreographer used all the tools at his disposal, as did Sergei Prokofiev in his iconic 1936 score, marshaling an astonishing variety of instruments and sounds — just listen to the horns — to create a giant palette, then painting each scene with a miniaturist’s delight.”

Tickets can be purchased online at www.DavidHKochTheater.com or by calling 212-496-0600.
