An Oswego man has been charged with eight counts of predatory criminal sexual assault in Kendall County, adding to a similar charge filed earlier this year in nearby DeKalb County.
Todd M. Falkos, 38, of the 0-99 block of Sherwick Road, Oswego, is accused of committing predatory criminal sex assault, a class X felony, involving a victim who was younger than 13, according to court documents.
Charging documents filed in Kendall County Circuit Court allege that between March 31, 2007, and Jan. 31, 2011, Falkos committed sex acts with the victim. The Kendall County charges refer to places in Yorkville.
On Jan. 6, Falkos was indicted in DeKalb County on a single charge of predatory criminal sexual assault involving a victim younger than 13, according to DeKalb County court records, which indicate the alleged crime took place May 1, 2011.
Falkos is listed in custody at the DeKalb County Jail, according to VineLink. His bail there was set at $750,000 and an order appointing a public defender was filed Jan. 12, according to DeKalb court records.
Kendall County Assistant State’s Attorney Nemura Pencyla said he believes the charges in both counties all involve the same victim, and were charged in different jurisdictions because they occurred in different places over different time periods.
Falkos is next scheduled to appear in court at 9 a.m. Friday before Judge Philip G. Montgomery in Room 72 of the DeKalb County courthouse. His past convictions include retail theft in 2008 in Kendall County and misuse of a credit card in 2001 in DeKalb County, records show.
