Several senses will be stimulated when you take a Chocolate Factory Tour at Long Grove Confectionery, 333 Lexington Drive, Buffalo Grove. You’ll smell the delicious candies, see how they’re made and take a taste.

“Guests are amazed at the fact that everything is so hands-on,” said tour leader Nancy Newman. “The tour allows our guests not only to see how our product is made, but they learn the history of chocolate, and see the old equipment we once used, solid chocolate pieces and artwork that is made in-house.”

The tour includes a video presentation, a free chocolate treat and a chance to purchase more goodies at the outlet store. Gloria Garry who works at the store noted that visitors often tell her “how great it is to actually watch what they are about to eat being made.”

The admission fee is $2 and live production is not guaranteed. There are no tours on Sundays or holidays. Registration is required.
