Chicago native and former Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Quincy Black has listed his six-bedroom, 9,050-square-foot mansion in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood for $2.995 million.

Black, 33, starred at Kenwood Academy and Harper College before playing for the University of New Mexico and then launching a six-year NFL career. After injuring his neck while making a tackle, Black was released by the Buccaneers in early 2013.

Black paid $2.65 million for the mansion in April 2015. Built in 2004, the house sits on a 52-foot-wide lot — more than twice the width of a standard Chicago lot. The mansion has eight baths, three fireplaces, five en-suite bedrooms upstairs, an elevator, a lower level nanny suite with a second kitchen, an eat-in kitchen with a two-story breakfast room and a butler’s pantry, four decks including a rooftop deck over the garage, and a five-car, attached garage. Outside on the property is a yard with a sport court.

“It’s such a beautiful piece of land and the house is so wide and sunny,” said listing agent Emily Sachs Wong of @properties. “It feels like something you would find in the suburbs, given the width. These owners have made many improvements.”
