The title of Kelly Osbourne’s new book is “There is no (Expletive) Secret,” but she is keeping mum about her falling out with her former “Fashion Police” co-star Giuliana Rancic.
“One time I was on a flight when one of the attendants came up to me right as I was settling in. ‘Before I get too crazy busy,’ he said, ‘I want to say that what you did and why you left ‘Fashion Police’ says so much about you, and I’m so proud of the person you are, because not many people would do that,'” Osbourne writes in the book, which was published Tuesday.
“For those of you who don’t know what he is referring to, I’ll first say that enough chaos has already been stirred up and more than sufficiently publicized about this incident. The important thing to note is that he was referring to a time that I didn’t put my foot in my mouth and stood up for my beliefs against what I had perceived as a racist comment.”

Osbourne quit the E! network show in 2015 after Rancic, who co-owns RPM Italian and RPM Steak in River North, criticized actress-singer Zendaya Coleman’s red-carpet dreadlocks for seemingly smelling “like patchouli oil or weed. Maybe weed.” Rancic later apologized.
Osbourne tweeted at the time: “I did not make the weed (comment). I do not condone racism so as a (result) of this I’m (seriously questioning) staying on the show.”
She later told TheWrap that she “will never admit to liking Giuliana because I don’t. I don’t think she’s a good person and I think she’s a liar.”
In the book’s acknowledgments, Osbourne thanks “all my colleagues and contributors” including “Fashion Police” co-stars Brad Goreski and Kathy Griffin. Not surprisingly, Rancic doesn’t make the list.
When a USA Today reporter recently asked about the incident, Osbourne said she doesn’t “understand why that has anything to do with my life.” She also sidestepped a “Fashion Police” question Monday on Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.”
A rep for Osbourne, 32, declined an interview request ahead of her book event scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday at North Central College in Naperville. A rep for Rancic did not return a Tribune request for comment.
