Two men have been charged with drug-induced homicide in the heroin death of a 20-year-old man in May in Crystal Lake, police said.

John Galloway, 18, of Crystal Lake, and Seth Ferguson, 22, of Lake in the Hills, both also were charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, and Galloway was charged with drug possession, according to a news release this week from Crystal Lake police.

Police discovered Jacob Czipo dead when they responded to a report at a home in the 1700 block of Nashville Lane on May 18. A seven-week investigation by police and the McHenry County coroner’s office found that heroin that had been delivered to Czipo resulted in his death, police said.

Crystal Lake detectives on Friday obtained arrest warrants for Galloway and Ferguson, who were already in jail on unrelated charges. Both are being held on $1 million bail. Galloway is in the McHenry County Jail. Ferguson is in the Cook County Jail.

Both are scheduled to appear in McHenry County court on July 21.
