One person was killed and a 29-year-old woman was critically injured when a vehicle they were in swerved over a median and collided head on with another vehicle early Thursday on the South Side, Chicago police said.
The two were in a vehicle that was traveling east in the 6600 block of South Ellis Avenue in the Woodlawn neighborhood when it collided with a westbound vehicle around 3:55 a.m., according to police.
The driver was killed and the woman, a passenger, was rushed to University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition, but was later pronounced dead.
The 32-year-old man who was driving the other vehicle was not injured.
