Can the Bears beat the Dolphins on Sunday? Check the numbers

Here’s a look at the Bears by the numbers as they prepare to face the Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday (noon, FOX-32).

Bears through four games

154.6: Bears quarterback Mitch Trubisky’s passer rating against the Buccaneers on Sept. 30 after he completed 19 of 26 passes for 354 yards, six touchdowns and no interceptions.

1999: The last time a Bears quarterback netted as many yards as Trubisky’s 397 against the Bucs. Jim Miller had 407 yards against the Vikings in Week 10 that season.

23: Career touchdown catches for Bears wide receiver Allen Robinson. His TD catch against the Bucs was his first since Nov. 20, 2016.

3: Game-opening drives in which the Bears have scored a touchdown, out of four opportunities this season. That’s the most opening touchdown drives over four games for the Bears since the 1970 NFL merger.

1.25: Sacks per game by Bears outside linebacker Khalil Mack. He also has four forced fumbles, a pick-six, a fumble recovery, four quarterback hurries and three tackles for a loss.

6: Bears NFC defensive players of the month in the last decade: Julius Peppers and Brian Urlacher in 2010, Peppers in 2011, Tim Jennings and Charles Tillman in 2012 and Khalil Mack last month.

8: Interceptions by the Bears defense, tied for third in the NFL and the most to open the season for the Bears since they had 11 through four games in 2012.

2012: The last time the Bears had a winning streak longer than three games. They won six straight from Sept. 23 to Nov. 4, 2012. They are on their first three-game winning streak since 2013.

Looking ahead to the Dolphins

4: Consecutive AFC East opponents for the Bears, starting Sunday — the Dolphins, Patriots, Jets and Bills.

24: Fourth-quarter points allowed by the Dolphins in a 27-17 loss to the Bengals on Sunday.

0: Rushing touchdowns allowed by the Bears this season. They are the only team in the NFL not to allow an opponent to score on the ground. They also are best in the NFL with 64 rushing yards allowed per game.

288.2: Net yards per game by the Dolphins offense, ranked 30th in the NFL.

14,228: Career rushing yards by Dolphins running back Frank Gore, fourth in NFL history behind Emmitt Smith, Walter Payton and Barry Sanders. Gore, who has played in 117 consecutive games, has 202 rushing yards this season.

65.9: Completion percentage of Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill this season. He has thrown for 972 yards and has a 92.9 passer rating. But the Dolphins have six passing touchdowns of 20 or more yards this season.

10: Interceptions by the Dolphins defense this season, best in the NFL. They have amassed 180 return yards on picks.

2011: The last time the Bears wore their orange jerseys with white pants, as they will do Sunday.

1: Season in which current Dolphins head coach Adam Gase served as the Bears offensive coordinator, in 2015. Dowell Loggains was the Bears OC the next two seasons before joining Gase in Miami this season.

Around the NFL

2: Undefeated teams in the NFL: the Chiefs and Rams, both 5-0.

1990: The last time every team has won at least one game through Week 5. Nineteen teams are in or within one game of first place in their divisions.

3: Times the Browns have played in overtime this year. The 2002 Bills, the 1995 Colts and 1987 Packers are the only other teams to play in three overtimes in the first five games of the season since 1974.

9: Touchdowns by Rams running back Todd Gurley — seven rushing and two receiving — the most in the NFL. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ 14 touchdown passes also lead the way.

72,103: Career passing yards for Saints quarterback Drew Brees after he became the NFL’s all-time leading passer on Monday night.

4: Victories in four starts for rookie quarterbacks in Week 5, a first in the Super Bowl era. The Cardinals’ Josh Rosen, Bills’ Josh Allen, Browns’ Baker Mayfield and Jets’ Sam Darnold all won.

199: Career regular-season victories for Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. He is looking for No. 200 on Sunday against the Chiefs.
