Red Line service between Howard and Belmont was temporarily suspended Sunday morning after a switching issue near the Jarvis stop.
There were no injuries, and passengers on the stopped train just north of the station at 1523 W. Jarvis Ave. were moved off, authorities said, but the minor incident could cause major delays.
By 10 a.m. Sunday, Red Line trains were only operating between Belmont and 95th, and Yellow Line service was temporarily suspended. Delays were also expected on the Purple Line, with limited service between South Boulevard and Linden.
Shuttles will be available on the Red Line and Purple Line, a CTA spokesman said.
