Will County clerk accepts credit cards
The Will County Clerk’s Office is accepting credit and debit cards from those purchasing copies of birth, marriage or death certificates.
The office is working with GovPayNet, an Indianapolis-based company that accepts credit and debit card payments on behalf of government agencies. This means the office no longer has to turn away customers who didn’t have cash to pay for copies, according to a news release from the clerk’s office.
Cardholders will be charged a $1.50 service fee on payments up to $50 at the time of their transaction. The fee increases as the purchase amount rises.
GovPayNet accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.
