NEWCOMER: Mariya Russell, right, chef de cuisine at Kumiko/Kikko, celebrates with partner Joe Kaiser after they got the call April 29, 2021, that Kikko had won a Michelin star. The restaurant’s staff had gathered at sister restaurant Oriole to await a call from a Michelin representative. Oriole retains its two-star rating.
