Aurora singer and songwriter Eric Peter Schwartz is the featured performer during the next live stream concert sponsored by The Venue.
The show will be streamed through The Venue’s Facebook page at 8 p.m. Monday at https://www.facebook.com/TheVenueAurora/.
The 200-seat music performance space at 21 S. Broadway, in downtown Aurora, has been delivering live stream concerts since state requirements closed live performance spaces due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The series, titled Livestream on Broadway at The Venue, is sponsored by the facility and its owner, the Fox Valley Music Foundation. Proceeds from the shows benefit the foundation and the performing artist. Donations can be made through the website https://themusicvenue.org/.
“Eric Peter Schwartz will be a bright light addition to our Monday night series,” said Dave Glynn, Fox Valley Music Foundation president.
Schwartz is a singer/songwriter who’s been driving around the country playing his brand of pop-laced acoustic rock.
“It’s pretty simple,” said Schwartz. “I’m a guy with a guitar, driving around the country, telling stories, expressing love, expelling demons, healing heartache and trying like hell to entertain people.”
Glynn pointed out that Schwartz is “grounded like everyone else right now.”
“But Eric’s dying to put on a show for everyone,” Glynn said. “No need to put quarters in the jukebox, but a donation will go a long way for both the performing artist and The Venue. These are tough times for musical artists and music rooms like ours. We are so glad that we can continue the entertainment while we all shelter in a safe place.”
Adjacent to Mundy Park in downtown Aurora, The Venue was created and built by the Fox Valley Music Foundation with help from the city of Aurora, Invest Aurora, the Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley, the Dunham Foundation and private donors.
