The Wilmette Fire Department responded to a report of a possible drowning victim at the beach around 4 p.m. Saturday.
On arrival, crews found the man had been removed from the water, and CPR was being performed by lifeguards and a witness, Fire Chief Ben Wozney said.
The man was later identified as Ankit Zutshi, 31, of the 400 block of W. Oakdale, Chicago, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
