Using difficulties caused by the pandemic, Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos is diverting even more funding away from public schools to those that are sectarian and private, and even for-profit. If the Trump administration gets four more years, we might eventually have no public education system at all. Make no mistake about it. That is their dream.

Every Republican that has been silent or has backed Trump — either by vocally backing his lunacy or just not saying anything — is just as responsible as he is for killing thousands of Americans through stupidity and neglect. If you are proud of this president, I am afraid the American Dream has ended. No one with active brain cells could possibly think Trump is anything but a lying bully that has not been loved his entire life and is taking out his frustration by doing things no sane person could even think of.

Attorney General William Barr is absolutely out of control. His position is supposed to be non-partisan, but he is openly claiming that if Biden is elected we will have “socialism and mob rule,” and has advocated that protesters be prosecuted for sedition, a conviction for which carries with it the death penalty. It’s crystal clear that he and Trump are laying the groundwork for violence following the November election. Start impeachment proceedings now.

Our western states are on fire, again. The Gulf Coast is under water, again. And our “fake news” president smirks and declares “I don’t think science knows.”

Thank you, Highland Councilmen, for having the vision for keeping Highland in the 21st century by voting for senior housing. We need to keep pace with other towns as they progress. I will be putting a sign in my front yard for Herak, Zemen, and Sheeman.

Why would this administration give $7.7 billion in the CARES Act loans to religious groups that pay no taxes, when so many small businesses, that do pay taxes, were cheated out of getting help?

What happens when no vaccine is actually announced next month? Will everybody in the White House just pretend that Trump never said there would be?

If Hobart, Valpo or Andrean win state this year, they will all move up one class. Merrillville is already a 6A and cannot advance.

Trump talks about “herd mentality” and attacks Joe Biden for not issuing a national mask mandate, and then he has the nerve to accuse the head of the CDC of being “confused”?  Trump is not just confused, he is dangerously deranged.

The head of the CDC testifying under oath to Congress gave them a timeline for a virus vaccine. Trump without any scientists present says that the CDC is wrong and confused and he’s right about masks and the timeline. Which one do you think is a liar?

Someone said 200,000 could be dead from COVID-19 by December. Well, from where I’m sitting, it’s going to beyond that — bigly. What a travesty. Trump is, oh well, fill your own words.

You want Michael Caputo fired for lying? Trump has told so many lies they are having trouble keeping count. What is good for the goose is good for the gander.

Vote for Trump if you wish, or not. Being an Indiana resident, it doesn’t matter as Indiana doesn’t have enough electoral votes to make a difference. If you feel that strongly about Trump’s re-election, you should have moved to a state with more electoral votes. As we have seen, while every American’s vote counts, some votes count more than others.
