The more humanitarian option
It’s foolish for anyone to blame Biden for the current situation in Afghanistan. He’s making good on a promise from two former presidents. We installed a new government and military. We trained them. We armed them. When left to stand on their own, they gave their country to the Taliban with almost no resistance. How is that Biden’s fault? Should we stay another 20 years fighting for a country that’s not ours in an unpopular war? Or should we get out and help people that don’t want to be there get somewhere else? Seems like that’s the more humanitarian option.
Are you happy?
Biden: Wrong on the border, wrong on immigration, wrong on the pipeline, wrong to bend the knee to Putin and OPEC, wrong on the virus, wrong on inflation, wrong on crime, wrong to defund the police and wrong for America. Are you happy about voting for Biden?
Where’s the vetting?
We are seeing it happen in real time. The president saying that the 20,000 we should be helping need to be “vetted” to come into our country. As someone who has been their and done it really, how many Illegals came into our country in the last month? They come from all over the world. And the count — almost 200,000. That’s 10 times more folks. And the vetting is?
That isn’t right
Now that the new census numbers are out, let’s get rid of gerrymandering, which is a just a way for politicians to pick their voters rather than voters picking their politicians. These crazy-shaped districts need to go. I don’t care which party is in power, they both use redistricting to rig the system for their own benefit, and that isn’t right.
Competency check
Nancy Pelosi needs to be held accountable for what she did for when Trump was in office, and Biden being incompetent. She should be checked for her competency.
Masks for the greater good
In response to “We live in a free country”: The key word here is “we” as in “we the people,” which encompasses all Americans. Our government has the dubious task of ensuring freedoms for all of us. You state the government doesn’t have the right to “mandate” our health care. I would offer a different view. Our government is there to protect we the people. In the case of COVID vaccinations or wearing masks, I am of the opinion the government should mandate to care for all Americans under the premise of the greater good.
Hand me the remote
OK, I’ll wear a mask. But don’t tell me “What to watch” on TV. A whole page of telling me what to watch?
Just do that
So I just watched another of J.B. Pritzker commercials. What is he trying to do? Brainwash us? Repeat himself so much he thinks it becomes true, or is he saying, “Look I have so much money to waste on these commercials, don’t even try running against me.” We all know what he needs to do to save this state. Why doesn’t he just do that?
No clue about honor
As a vet, to see what we are seeing playing out is not only unprofessional, but a disgrace. It’s very obvious that those calling the shots have no clue, and to have leaders of soldiers reacting and performing as they are doing is a disgrace to the uniform, wearing that Ranger tab especially. Rangers lead the way, not political agendas and careers. And seeing Afghans being rescued and evacuated before U.S. citizens? Sorry, our oath says Americans and America first. The president has no clue about honor and being an American.
He had it so right
Two weeks ago, I took an Uber to the airport. I asked my driver, who told me he had just returned from Afghanistan, how long he expected the Afghan government to last. He said they would fold about five minutes after we left. He said they were hopelessly corrupt, were stealing our money and the army wouldn’t support them. It’s odd how he had it so right, and our so-called intelligence community had it so wrong.
