From actors Abby Walker and Brian O’Donnell to rock musician Dennis DeYoung to former MLB player Garret Jones, Frankfort has long been home to exceptional talent.

This year, another Frankfort resident joined those ranks. Bryson Das, an eighth grader at Hickory Creek Middle School, was nominated to attend the Junior National Young Leaders Conference. The conference, held throughout the summer in Washington, D.C., is a gathering of like-minded ambitious middle school students from across the nation that provides unique academic and career-oriented development experiences, according to a news release from the school.

“I am excited and honored to have represented my school at the Junior National Young Leadership Conference,” Das said.

Das is a member of National Junior Honors Society, Mathletes and Scholastic Bowl. He has also participated in the school’s Geography Bee and pitches for the Hickory Creek and Rawlings Tigers baseball teams.
