This is really too much. The conservative blogosphere is outraged that Joe Biden “did not even show up” when the bodies of our service people were returned from Afghanistan. Even Fox’s Laura Ingraham joined in this chorus, which is just another of their big lies. I guess we all just imagined Joe and Jill Biden standing by while the coffins were offloaded from the transport plane. This is the tack they take: Just say something is true, and no matter how false or how absurd, their devotees will believe it.
Caleb Wallace, 30, has passed away in Texas from COVID-19, after trying a home remedy of vitamin C, aspirin, and the latest craze, livestock dewormer Ivermectin. Mr. Wallace was an avowed anti-vaxxer and anti-mask fanatic who helped organize a ”Freedom Rally'” to protest mask mandates and other measures. In Georgia, a 57-year-old police captain has died from COVID-19. He was another zealous anti-vaxxer, anti-mask supporter. This individual also tried a concoction of home remedies, and was known for posting helpful advice on Facebook where to get Ivermectin. Not very encouraging results. At this rate the anti-vaccination crowd will run out of people to lead them.
Have you noticed that President Biden doesn’t ask states if they voted for him before he sends them aid? Federal aid is supposed to be for every taxpayer, not for the chosen few like Trump did.
I have never seen so many heartbroken Americans about a terrorist attack on the Afghanistan capitol who still don’t care about a terrorist attack on the American capitol.
When the responsibility of the Buck Stopping Here involves the death of 13 of our bravest, that is a Big Buck to pay. It makes no difference if you think this is President Biden’s fault, or Trump’s, or the past four Presidents, the reality is whatever happens onboard a ship — your fault, my fault, nobody’s fault — the Captain always takes responsibility.
Republicans sat silent when Trump abandoned our Kurdish allies and let them be slaughtered by the Turks. Then he handed over our bases and equipment in Syria to the Russians. Now they are outraged by Biden rescuing tens of thousands out of Afghanistan? They are a special kind of hypocrite.
When our service members were killed attempting to rescue people from Afghanistan, President Biden made respectful remarks, promised retaliation and delivered. He was at Dover to meet the caskets. Trump is on record calling American soldiers who died in combat “suckers” and “losers”. Conservatives, even if you don’t like Biden, you can do better than Trump next election cycle.
How come it’s always dumped on the Republicans to clean up the messes made by the Democrats such as this Afghanistan fiasco. The same thing happened in Iraq with Obama!
Don, Jr., that miserable punk, is ridiculing Joe Biden for showing emotion when he acknowledged the deaths of American servicemen in Afghanistan, claiming that it was a sign of “weakness.” It figures that this is the sort of impudent whelp that would be raised by somebody like Trump.
Here is another positive aspect of the Afghanistan withdrawal where there has been little or no focus. Some will be shocked to learn on average we have been spending $300 million a day, yes a day, over 20 years to maintain troops in Afghanistan. This information was gathered from Forbes a reliable and respected financial publication. With the withdrawal, we must assume there will be a drastic reduction in our military budget. Someone, please tell the Biden administration to make sure the country is aware of these ‘savings.’ We blast presidents over increases in the budget. Why not praise them when there are significant reductions? To put this in perspective. With the ‘savings,’ we could build and equip on a daily basis four new state of the art comprehensive high schools in a chosen state! Or, we can chose to build or produce more bombs, missles and M4 carbines!
Millions of retired or older Americans cannot afford dental care, which is not covered by Medicare. This is crazy. A good many health problems begin because of dental issues, which in the long run just adds to Medicare costs. Congressional Democrats are determined to fix that by getting dental care as well as vision and hearing remediation added to Medicare coverage. But if Democrats are for it, you know for a downright certainty that Republicans will be against it. It will be another of those many things Republicans respond to in their same old way — “we cannot afford it.” Add it to the list of what we cannot afford because Republicans continue to protect the affluent and large corporations from paying their fair share of taxes. All too often they pay no taxes at all, and we end up losing trillions in revenue.
What’s happening? Did they reopen the gas pipeline? Gas prices are dropping. August 13 has come and gone and Biden is still president. The stock market hasn’t crashed and we still have a (fractured) country. And unfortunately, Caleb Wallace, who has led efforts against masking in central Texas, has died from COVID-19. He leaves a pregnant wife and 3 children behind. He self medicated with vitamin C, zinc aspirin and Ivermectin, an anti-parasitic medicine. There is reality and everything else.
