Good afternoon, Chicago.

R. Kelly is back in a Chicago prison after spending more than a year in jail in Brooklyn. Jury selection for his second criminal trial is set to begin Aug. 15 at the Dirksen U.S. Courthouse, where he is accused of conspiring with two former associates to rig his 2008 child pornography case in Cook County and hide years of alleged sexual abuse of underage girls.

Highland Park victims and suburban mothers are marching on the U.S. Capitol today to pressure legislators to enact a federal ban on assault weapons.

And Laura Ricketts and the Chicago Sky are in preliminary talks about the Cubs co-owner potentially investing in the WNBA team.
