A North Chicago man died early Tuesday from a gunshot wound he sustained Monday night, according to the Lake County Major Crime Task Force.

The task force said North Chicago police responded to reports of shots fired in the 2600 block of Spruce Drive about 10:45 p.m. and found the 18-year-old with a serious gunshot wound.

The man, who had not yet been identified by authorities, was taken to an area hospital. He was pronounced dead about 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to the task force.
