Good afternoon, Chicago.

Live election results are just hours away and we’ll be tracking races across Illinois at chicagotribune.com/election-results.

As of 3 p.m., 502,459 ballots had been cast in Chicago, representing a turnout of 32.6% of the city’s 1.5 million registered voters, according to a Chicago Board of Elections spokesperson.

If you haven’t voted yet, here’s what to know as you head to your polling place. But if you live in Chicago, keep in mind that your polling place may have changed.

From our Editorial Board, you can read all their endorsements and grab your scissors for The Tribune’s “bedsheet ballot.”

Meanwhile, a potential cloud over vote counting in Illinois’ election was lifted late last night when a federal judge put off until December arguments over the validity of mail-in ballots postmarked on or before Election Day but received by election authorities within two weeks afterward.

Here’s what else is happening today. And remember, for the latest breaking news in Chicago, visit chicagotribune.com/breaking and sign up to get our alerts on all your devices.
