Two people died Tuesday morning in a traffic crash at the intersection of Oakton Street and Cumberland Avenue, Park Ridge police said.

According to a police department press release, law enforcement and the Park Ridge fire department responded just past 11 a.m. to a call about a car colliding with a house on the 900 block of Oakton Street.

Both of the car’s occupants were pronounced dead at the scene while the house was not occupied at the time of the crash, police said. Cumberland Avenue dead-ends at Oakton at that point in a T-shaped intersection.

Police said witnesses saw the car, a 2007 Honda Sedan, traveling southbound on Cumberland toward Oakton before crashing.
