The Lake County coroner’s office Monday released the identities of two people killed in separate traffic Friday.
Rynnae Olcikas, 52, of Lake Zurich, died from injuries received in a Friday morning traffic accident in Park City. She was the front-seat passenger in one of the cars in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Greenleaf Court and Greenleaf Street.
Police said there was moderate damage to the vehicles, and Olcikas was transported to Condell Medical Center in Libertyville where she was pronounced dead at 10:48 a.m. An autopsy Monday indicated that Olcikas died from blunt force injuries, the coroner’s office said.
In the second accident, a pedestrian was killed Friday night when he was hit by a vehicle at the intersection of Illinois Route 12 and Eagle Point Road in Fox Lake.
The coroner’s office Monday identified him as Matthew Wood, 54. Authorities said he was struck by a vehicle at about 10:30 p.m. and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The county’s Major Crash Assistance Team and local authorities are continuing to investigate both accidents.
