You’re asking for 12 to 13 intelligent comments from conservatives? Now that is a pipe dream! Thanks for the Friday morning laugh!
While holding the eleventh vote for Speaker of the House, which is a disgrace in itself, Rep. Matt Gaetz nominated Donald Trump. How do real conservative Republicans still support the current Republican Party? Which deplorable action or constitutional disgrace will be enough for you to realize the only people that are governing for the citizens of this country are Democrats?
Before Quickly can print “twelve or thirteen intelligent comments” by Porter County conservatives, there have to be twelve or thirteen intelligent comments from Porter Country conservatives. That’s a pretty high bar. What’s more, if there are all these thousands of Porter County conservatives (which I actually do not doubt), then why do we only hear from one, maybe two, of them? Too busy watching Fox News?
Sorry, buddy, but apparently it’s the Democrats in Congress who are the ones acting like adults. Democrats were able to set aside their differences and come together on their leadership for the good of the country. They are providing a great counterexample to what the Republican Party has become. Republicans are squabbling for power like either children or tyrants. It was also not a Democrat who had a temper tantrum and threw his lunch against the wall over an election loss, nor was it Democrats who violently attacked the capital over the same election loss. Grow up.
Why are the Republicans playing the perfectionist role for the new Speaker of the House? After all, the new Speaker is following Nancy Pelosi, the worst Speaker in the nations’ history. Whomever gets the job is going to look good after Nancy’s reign of terror!
How nice of the Lake County Council to ban vacation bank time (Or enforce it). Employees get X amount of vacation, but then are short staffed and overworked and aren’t allowed to take it? Yeah, OK, I’ll just give my vacation back ….
What an ironic twist that the House Speaker nominee getting all those non-McCarthy votes is named “Donalds”! And what a laugh that when nominated himself, Donald got only one vote, and that from a member of the House being investigated for child sex-trafficking.
Please, don’t be surprised at the dysfunction surrounding the Republicans’ inability to vote in a House Speaker. This is basically the same group, except for a few new congressmen, that supported a corrupt ex-president. It is the same group that voted to overturn a legitimate election. They are the same congressmen who refuse to condemn the January 6 insurrection. In fact, one congressmen called the riot a typical protest that got a little bit out of control. At this writing, they have not been able to vote in a Speaker after eleven rounds of voting. There is help available for this dysfunctional group. They should ask the Democrats to provide them with a workshop on ‘how to elect a Speaker in one voting session!’ By the way, if you think this is dysfunction, wait until they name a Speaker and take control of the House!
It’s just plain ludicrous that the resident right-winger is now determined to make a virtue out of the Republican party’s humiliating dysfunction. Nice try, though. Republicans are the party that practices democracy? Oh, was that was happening on January 6th two years ago? Just Republicans practicing democracy? That must be why all those Republican House members voted against accepting electoral votes for Joe Biden.
Which party followed, and is still following, its deposed dear leader? Which party turned, and is still turning, a blind eye to it’s dear leader’s efforts to bypass the rule of law to remain in power? As for acting like adults, it’s the Republicans throwing tantrums and acting like spoiled children, a tactic they learned well from Trump. You did manage to cover the main Republican talking points, however. Gun grab, wokeness, etc. In other words, the same mantra Republicans have been chanting since Trump lost the election. It’s easier to do that than move forward for the good of the nation.
