FINANCIAL EXPLOITATION OF ELDERLY

Flyn E. Ruperto of Sycamore was charged with financial exploitation of the elderly Feb. 22. A person reported Ruperto was unlawfully taking money from an elderly Northbrook couple at a time she was hired to take care of them. She surrendered at the Northbrook Police Department after a warrant was issued. She is scheduled to appear in Cook County Court March 1 in Skokie.

THEFT

Patrick T. Markle of Chicago was charged with five counts of theft Feb. 17. A joint investigation by the Northbrook and Mount Prospect police departments revealed he stole several televisions and fans from his employer in the 900 block of Skokie Blvd

A man entered a retail business Feb. 18 in the 1100 block of Church Street, took several bottles of alcoholic beverages and food items. He left the store without paying.

INVALID LICENSE

Matthew N. Boudreaux of Chicago was charged with driving with a suspended license and a suspended registration Feb. 21. Police stopped him near the intersection of Old Willow Road and Willow Road after observing the suspended plate. After stopping him, they learned his license was suspended. He is scheduled to appear in Cook County Court April 3 in Skokie.

Antoni J. Silva-Torrealba of Chicago was charged with driving without a valid license, speeding, display of an expired temporary registration and improper use of registration Feb. 21. Police stopped Silva-Torrealba for driving 73 mph in a 40-mph zone near the intersection of Willow and Waukegan roads. After stopping him, they learned he did not have a driver’s license. He is scheduled to appear in Cook County Court April 4 in Skokie.

BURGLARY

An unknown individual or individuals entered two unlocked vehicles in the 1900 block of Kiest Avenue taking $100 from one of the vehicles Feb. 21.
