A Valparaiso man has been arrested on a charge of possession of child pornography after detectives were made aware of possible criminal activity that took place on a video chat site, according to police.
Ismael Perez Sanchez, 38, is charged with possession of child pornography, a Level 6 felony, and public nudity, a Class B misdemeanor, according to a release from Sgt. Glen Fifield, public information officer for the Indiana State Police Lowell Post.
The allegations came through a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the investigation led detectives to an address in Valparaiso as well as other identifiable information that allegedly was particular to the suspect, police said.
On April 3, detectives met with Sanchez and interviewed him about a file he had obtained from a website he had visited, police said. Sanchez also reportedly performed a sex act while a minor was viewing his webcam.
Police transported Sanchez to Porter County Jail after his arrest.
