CNN town hall was a travesty
The fact that CNN would allow Donald Trump to hold a supposed town hall rally with nothing but his supporters cheering him on spewing the same lies he has been spewing for years now and not fact check him is a travesty.
After 61 judges, some appointed by Trump himself, ruled against him regarding his cries of election fraud, and a jury of nine people, some who were Trump supporters, unanimously found him guilty of sexual abuse and defamation of character seems to mean nothing to most elected Republicans and MAGA supporters.
With more legal action set to be thrown against him, including mishandling and hiding of classified documents, his involvement in trying to steal the 2020 election by fishing for votes in Georgia, and his involvement in the Jan. 6 insurrection, it still doesn’t seem to be enough for people to speak out against him who certainly know better.
Well, I guess it’s always been about the money and power. It is such a shame to see the direction the Republican Party has taken in not speaking out against this horrible man and all the damage he has done.

Global Media Outreach seeks social control
Global Media Outreach is spending millions trying to convince people that they can know for sure that they are going to heaven. If that were so, there would be no need for faith.
Their real goal is social control, and to obtain it they need your money and your conservative vote. If they really cared about life, they’d use their influence to reduce the proliferation of guns in this country, but that won’t happen because they believe they have a God-given right to own an assault rifle.

Time to honor all law enforcement
Do you know in 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15 falls as National Police Week. I thank all our law enforcement individuals and in particular our Will County sheriff deputies who do such a wonderful job in Homer Glen. Thank you, also, to all their families who wait at home for the safe return of these law enforcement personnel.

Pet protection laws
Protect Our Pets Illinois wants to thank state Rep. Will Davis, D-Homewood, for being a strong advocate for animals in this year’s legislative session.
Davis was the lead sponsor of legislation to protect dogs from puppy mills, or substandard breeders. The bill would have made Illinois a leader in animal welfare by creating strong breeder standards. This would ensure that all dogs sold or adopted in Illinois come from humane sources, while also preserving consumer choice about where to get a puppy from.
Unfortunately, the bill didn’t pass this session, but we look forward to working with Davis and other lawmakers on advancing it next year. While some issues at the state Capitol can be contentious, lawmakers broadly support animal welfare and are looking for good policies that have meaningful results.
