THEFT
Someone entered a construction site in the 2100 block of St. Johns Avenue, took various construction tools valued at $3,600 and left through the garage May 20.
DOMESTIC BATTERY
Vanessa I. Diaz, 23, of the 400 block of Burton Avenue in Highland Park, was charged with domestic battery and resisting a peace officer May 29. Police responded to a report of domestic violence in the 1800 block of Green Bay Road. Diaz later surrendered at the Highland Park Police Station. A court date is pending.
Christine M. Davis, 40, of Highland Park, was charged with domestic battery May 28. She was arrested after police responded to a report of domestic abuse in the 300 block of Sumac Road. She is scheduled to appear in Lake County Court June 21 in Waukegan.
DUI
Marco Antonio Berete, 32, of the 2500 block of Green Bay Road in Highland Park, was charged with aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol while not possessing a license, unlawful possession of cannabis as a driver, failure to give information after striking an unattended vehicle, driving without a valid license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident May 21. He was arrested after police responded to the report of an accident in the 500 block of Ravinia Drive. He is scheduled to appear in Lake County Court June 5 in Waukegan.
Brian K. Cooper, Jr., 36, of the 400 block of Johelia Trail in Antioch, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding May 26. He was stopped near the intersection of Skokie Valley Road and Chantilly Boulevard for speeding, and police determined he was under the influence of alcohol. A court date is pending.
CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT
An unknown individual defaced a garage in the 2400 block of Sheridan Road by drawing graffiti and throwing eggs May 28.
