The following items were taken from Northbrook Police Department reports, press release records. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.

POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

Thomas H. Cyr, of Northbrook, was charged with possession of a controlled substance June 16. Security personnel in a retail business in the 1500 block of Lake Cook Road reported a Cyr walking around the store with what looked like firearm ammunition in his belt. After making contact with Cyr, police determined the ammunition was fake. They also found a white powder in his backpack which was determined to be heroin. He is scheduled to appear in Cook County Court July 5 in Skokie.

DUI

Jeordyn C. Famous, of Kenosha, Wis., was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a suspended registration, driving with a defective license plate light and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle June 18. Police stopped Famous in the 600 block of Charlemagne Drive after noticing the defective light. Famous failed a field sobriety test. Famous is scheduled to appear in Cook County Court July 15 in Skokie.

UINLAWFUL USE OF A WEAPON

Janiah Crump, of Kenosha, Wis., was charged with unlawful use of a weapon June 18. Crump was the passenger in a vehicle stopped in the 600 block of Charlemagne Drive for traffic violations. During an investigation, police discovered a stun gun in Crump’s possession. Crump did not have a FOID card. Crump is scheduled to appear in Cook County Court July 20 in Skokie.

THEFT

Iran K. McCoy, Shannon M. Shaughnessy and Antonio M. Candelaria, all of Chicago, were charged with retail theft June 17. Shaughnessy was also apprehended on an outstanding warrant issued in DuPage County for retail theft. The manager of a retail business in the 1000 block of Waukegan Road reported a person later identified as McCoy was loading cases of beer onto a handcart, left the store, loaded the beer into a vehicle and left without paying. Later that day, Wilmette police spotted the vehicle. The three individuals were taken into custody. Shaughnessy was later transported to DuPage County’s lockup facility. They are scheduled to appear in Cook County Court July 20 in Skokie.

A person reported their cellular telephone was stolen during an event in the 2300 block of Shermer Road June 17.

Personnel at a retail business in the 1900 block of Cherry Lane reported an unknown individual or individuals stole pallets from behind the store June 17.

BURGLARY

Northbrook residents reported an unknown individual or individuals entered their unlocked vehicles in the 3900 block of Russett Lane but did not take anything June 21.

A resident reported an unknown individual or individuals entered their unlocked vehicle parked in the 2500 block of Dundee Road taking cash and other belongings June 21.

A Northbrook resident reported an unknown individual or individuals kicked in the rear door of their home in the 2900 block of Keystone Road and ransacked the residence June 16. It is unknown what was taken.
