Art in Aurora
“Citizen Being,” an exhibition of paintings and sculpture by artist Steve Banks, is on display through Sept. 16 at Aurora Public Art’s Third Floor Gallery in Aurora. Tickets are free. At 20 E. Downer Place. aurora-il.org/329/Aurora-Public-Art.
Aurora Public Art’s hours are 12-4 p.m. Wednesdays-Fridays and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturdays. The exhibit features Banks’s works — steeped in comics, fast food and familiar pop culture imagery — in a variety of media.
Zep in your step

Uke it up

Book signing event
TikToker Mercury Stardust, known online as the Trans Handy Ma’am, will sign copies of her new book “Safe and Sound: A Renter Friendly Guide to Home Repair,” at 7 p.m. Aug. 22 at Anderson’s Bookshop in Naperville. Free movie night

Seating opens to the public at 7 p.m. Moviegoers should bring their own chairs. There will be a food vendor and concessions will be available. The Venue will have a cash bar; no outside alcohol will be allowed.
