Officials estimate that “given the beautiful weather” Sunday, some 3,000 people attended Fall Fest over two sites in Oak Park.
A host of family-friendly activities took place at both Rehm Park and the Oak Park Conservatory.

Susan Crane, a special events manager with the Park District of Oak Park, said there were a number of new offerings this year, the first fest since the official end of the COVID-19 pandemic. She told Pioneer Press that there was a professional pumpkin carver, live bats, snakes and rats at the Oak Park Conservatory.
“We also had a video-game truck on hand for those wanting to test their skills at gaming!” she said.
Crane said last year’s event started the return to a more normal, or pre-pandemic, run and attendance of the annual Fall Fest.
“We were thrilled to add a few more activities and have great sponsors, local food vendors, and community partners on hand to engage with the community. In the last couple of years we have found many new families moving to Oak Park and many view Fall Fest as one of the many activities that draw families to Oak Park,” she said.
She called Fall Fest a good source of family fun, especially as the seasons change.
