More than 25 area chefs will serve samples of their work during the upcoming “Taste of Fox Valley” during the Fill the Bowls fundraiser for the Marie Wilkinson Food Pantry in Aurora.

The wide array of soups, savory bites and sweet samplings will be served from noon to 3 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 12, at Two Brothers Roundhouse on North Broadway in downtown Aurora.

The Marie Wilkinson Food Pantry is hosting this ninth annual event, raising funds to help it share holiday meals with local families in need.

Entry to the Fill the Bowls fundraiser is $40 for adults, $12 for children ages 6 to 12 and free for kids under 5 years old.  Tickets are on sale at mwfoodpantry.org/fill-the-bowls.

Guests at the event will enjoy sample dishes from chefs and restaurants including A Girl And Her Mixer, AC’s Pub, Anchor Bar, Atrevete Confections, Aurora Tap House, Black Pepper Lounge, Charity Blooms, Craft Urban, Dick’s Mini Donuts, East Aurora High School Iron Paw (FCCLA Club), Fireside Grille, Holy Pierogi!, Jake’s Bagels & Deli, Katich Breads, Kitchen Ten, La Casa del Pollo Asado, Ms. Jana’s Candy, Open Range Southwest Grill, Pal Joey’s Restaurant & Bar, Pig Dog Pub, Reuland Food Services, Riverside Pizza & Pub, Smallcakes, Spartan House, Stockholm’s Restaurant & Brewery, Tasty Vegans, Tavern on Broadway and Two Brothers Artisan Brewing.

Event activities will include a raffle, a draw down contest for cash prizes and Marie’s Annual Spirit Awards.

Major support for the event is provided by Dolan & Murphy Real Estate and Two Brothers Roundhouse, organizers said.

Every guest will receive a commemorative soup mug honoring the life of local artist Pat Finley. His legacy includes the creation of hand-painted signage for Marie’s Pantry, Dolan & Murphy Real Estate and hundreds of local businesses.

Marie Wilkinson Food Pantry officials are also requesting support for purchasing holiday meal provisions for local households in need.

Food prices continue to rise in lockstep with inflation nationwide, according to pantry officials.

The rate of first-time visitors registering at each of the food pantry’s four weekly service locations has steadily increased every week this year, officials said.
