A steady stream of customers ventured into Crumbl Cookies on its opening day Friday, sampling favorites like chocolate chunk cookies and this week’s lineup of featured cookies, which rotate by week.
The store, at 9418 Skokie Blvd., is owned by Bo and Anamey Thede along with other investors, such as Troy Piltz. Piltz noted another store will be opening at Golf Mill Shopping Center in Niles in about a month.
“I think it’s pretty cool (that) Jaylon Johnson (Bears Cornerback), Edwin Jackson (former white Sox player), and some other Chicago professional athletes are investors of this location and the one coming (at) Golf Mill,” Thede said.

The Skokie location is open from 10 a.m. through 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, Piltz said, and employs 10 to 15 people.
“We make everything fresh,” he said, adding that the store uses fresh bananas and strawberries. “It’s all really the quaity of the ingredients.”
