A 44-year-old woman found dead on the driveway of her home in Campton Hills on Friday has been identified, and an autopsy has found injuries consistent with a vehicle vs. pedestrian incident, the Kane County Coroner’s Office said on Monday.

At around 10:45 p.m. Friday, police officers responded to a report of a disturbance in the 4N600 block of Brookside West Drive, the Campton Hills Police Department said in a news release. Upon arrival, officers found a woman, who was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The woman has since been identified by the Kane County Coroner’s Office as Nena Peduzzi, 44.

An autopsy was performed on Monday, the Coroner’s Office said, and preliminary findings indicate cranial cerebral injuries consistent with an auto vs. pedestrian incident. Toxicology samples were collected and will undergo analysis at a national forensic laboratory.

The Campton Hills Police Department, Fox Valley Major Crimes Task Force and Kane County Coroner’s Office are continuing to investigate the incident.

The police department said the incident is believed to be isolated, and there is no threat to the community. The department is asking anyone with information related to the investigation to contact Detective Oberth of the department’s Investigations Unit at 630-524-6261.
