Traffic has been shut down on portions of northbound I-55 Tuesday morning after a crash involving two semi trucks left steel coils on the roadway, Illinois State police reported.
Shortly before 6:30 a.m., state police responded to a crash involving two semi truck trailers at northbound I-55 at Cass Avenue near Route 83 in DuPage County. One semi was carrying steel coils which are now on the roadway, officials said.
Two lanes are currently shut down and traffic is moving on the left shoulder of the road, police said. The ramp from Cass Avenue to I-55 is also shut down.
