A 24-year-old man was arrested Tuesday night after allegedly pointing a gun at officers before fleeing the scene to a residence in the South Chicago neighborhood, officials said.

Shortly before 9 p.m., officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 8600 block of South Marquette Avenue. When they arrived at the scene, officers saw a 34-year-old man who matched the description of the suspect who pulled out a firearm and pointed toward the officers, police said. The gunman fled west entering a residence where he was arrested.

No one was injured at the scene, and charges were pending.
