Burbank

SEX OFFENDER: Convicted sex offender Ismail Z. Abbasi, 32, Chicago, was arrested May 15 and subsequently charged with being a sex offender in a school zone after attempting to enter an elementary school in the 8200 block of Lindner Avenue, police said. Abbasi was convicted in Cook County of sexually assaulting a child when he was 30, according to the Illinois sex offender registry online.

Chicago Ridge

KIDNAPPING: Jaylen A. Snyder, 27, Chicago Ridge, was arrested May 18 and subsequently charged with aggravated kidnapping and aggravated domestic battery/strangulation in the 5800 block of 107th Court Way, police said.

CHILD ENDANGERMENT: Amanda R. Gushes, 29, Justice, was arrested May 19 and charged with endangering a child in the 200 block of Commons Drive after leaving a young child in a car, police said.

Evergreen Park

AGGRAVATED REVOKED: Robert Strohacker was arrested May 6 and subsequently charged with aggravated driving on a revoked license during a stop in the 10400 block of Kedzie Avenue after officers determined his license was revoked and that he had four convictions for driving on a suspended or revoked license and two convictions for driving on a suspended license, police said.

ANIMAL CRUELTY: Pierre D. Boyson, 37, Chicago, is scheduled to appear in Cook County court at Bridgeview July 1, charged with animal cruelty in connection with poking two adult Canada geese with a stick while taking their gosling May 7 in a department store parking lot in the 2500 block of 95th Street, police said. Boyson surrendered the baby goose the next day and it was transported to the DuPage Wildlife Conservation Center in Glen Ellyn, police said.

Frankfort

FORGERY CHARGED: Emmanuel Dosunmu, 33, Chicago, appeared in Will County court May 18, charged with forgery/issue/deliver document, according to court records online. Dosunmu attempted to cash a check for $798.79 at Old Plank Trail Community Bank, 20901 S LaGrange Road, on Jan. 23, police said.

Lockport

FELONY THEFT: Eddie D. Nesby, 25, Chicago, was scheduled to appear in Will County court May 27, charged with theft/$500-$10,000, according to court records online. The charge stems from the unauthorized removal of a $1,650 business check from a work vehicle on Oct. 6, police said.

Matteson

HIT-RUN: Gregory D. Miles, 40, Park Forest, was arrested May 11, charged with leaving the scene of a fatal crash and failing to report a fatal crash in connection with a July 25 fatal multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 57 near Vollmer Road, according to Illinois State Police. Miles, who also has a Glenwood address, ran away after his vehicle sideswiped an individual attempting to start a car, police said.

Merrionette Park

ROBBERY CHARGED: A Chicago man accused of wielding a handgun during a Nov. 24 hold up at Dollar Tree, 3341 115th St., was arrested by local officers May 20 and charged with aggravated robbery, police said. Jeffrey L. Price, 46, was identified as a suspect during the nearly five-month investigation assisted by Matteson police and the FBI, police said.

Oak Lawn

AGGRAVATED SPEEDING: Samuel J. Popow, 18, Chicago, was arrested April 20 and charged with aggravated speeding/35+ mph after driving 65 mph in a 30 mph zone in the 5600 block of 95th Street, police said.

AGGRAVATED SPEEDING: James T. Nguyen, 21, Chicago, was arrested April 27 at 109th Street and Cicero Avenue and subsequently charged with aggravated speeding/35+ after driving 71 mph in a 35 mph zone, police said.

Orland Park

DUI CRASH: Isaac Mandujano, 51, Chicago, was arrested May 5 and charged with drunken driving, failing to reduce speed to avoid a collision and hit-run in connection with a two-vehicle crash investigation at 159th Street and 71st Court, police said.

DUI CRASH: Shevah B. Hogans, 36, Chicago, was arrested May 6 and charged with drunken driving, failing to reduce speed to avoid a collision, disregarding a traffic control device and failing to produce proof of insurance during a one-vehicle crash investigation at 159th Street and 94th Avenue, police said.

Palos Heights

AGGRAVATED SPEEDING: Al Mesalmeh Mohammad, 19, 10800 block of Harlem Avenue, Worth, was arrested May 23 in the 11400 block of Harlem Avenue and subsequently charged with aggravated speeding after driving 41 mph above the posted speed limit, police said.

DUI CRASH: Theresa Munoz, 43, 7600 block of Lockwood Avenue, Burbank, was arrested and charged with drunken driving during a May 24 crash investigation at Southwest Highway and College Avenue, police said.

Park Forest

GUN POSSESSION:  Danyel A. Hamilton, 23, 16300 block of Plymouth Drive, Markham, was arrested and charged with aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon at a playground April 23 after officers investigating a report of shots fired linked him to nine spent 9 mm shell casings at Eastgate Park and to a loaded stolen 9 mm handgun with an inserted loaded magazine that had been discarded in a nearby commercial rubbish bin in the 100 block of Ash Street, police said.

GUN POSSESSION: Derrick T. Terrell Jr., 42, 3400 block of 3400 block of Western Avenue, Park Forest, was arrested April 23 and subsequently charged with aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon after officers recovered a loaded 9 mm handgun without serial numbers with an inserted loaded magazine and determined he lacked a gun permit while assisting with an arrest in that block, police said.

Steger

TEEN TAKEOVER: Steger officers helped South Chicago Heights officers disperse 100 teens from a grocery store parking lot in the 3200 block of Chicago Road late May 15 before encountering about 300 teens associated with a post-prom party spilling out of Steger VFW Post 8283 Honor 11, 3332 Chicago Road, police said. The officers, aided by officers from South Chicago Heights and other neighboring jurisdictions, Cook County and Will County sheriff’s deputies and K-9 units, dispersed the teens, who were blocking the 3300 block of Chicago Road and moving into a parking lot on the street’s east side, police said.

University Park

CHILD ABANDONMENT: Jamika Hawkins, 32, University Park, was scheduled to appear in Will County court May 27, charged with two counts of child abandonment, according to court records online. Hawkins left a child and an infant alone Dec. 17 at a home in the Morningside subdivision, according to a Feb. 26 bill of indictment.
