A 37-year-old woman was fatally wounded overnight in a double shooting when gunfire pierced through a window also injuring a teenage boy in the Grand Crossing neighborhood, Chicago police said.

Shortly before 1 a.m. Friday, the victims were inside a residence in the 7600 block of South Eberhart Avenue when gunfire went through a window and struck both victims, police said.

The woman suffered wounds to her body, and was pronounced dead at the scene. The teenage boy, 17, was struck to the left hand, and was taken to UChicago Medicine where he was listed in good condition, police said.

As of Friday morning, the woman had yet to be identified.

No one was in custody for the fatal shooting, and detectives were investigating.
