Buffalo Grove Police said there are no signs of foul play in the deaths of two residents found dead during a well-being check Tuesday and a third person at the residence who died later at a hospital.
Two of the residents were an elderly married couple who were in their 80s. The third body was a man in his 60s, Buffalo Grove police said Wednesday.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office identified them as Helen Cavins, 88, Harold Cavins, 81, and Mark Cavins, 60.
Preliminary investigation indicates the deaths were an unfortunate coincidence, according to police.
The elderly couple had been in a hospice program, and someone from the program asked police to perform a check at the house in the 200 block of Timber Hill Road, BG Police Sgt. Meghan Hansen said Wednesday.
Officers arrived around 7:45 a.m. Tuesday and found the two men deceased. The elderly woman was transported to a hospital where she was later pronounced dead, Hansen said.
