A Miller-based water safety organization is continuing to offer youth clinics in July and August.

Blue Flow Great Lakes, a nonprofit established by Miller resident Mary Ann Best, teaches people how to handle themselves in the water safely and to be able to save themselves or others, if needed.

The clinics include water knowledge and hazards, dry land drills and games, water skills and drills, prone paddling on rescue boards, water rescue drills and relays. Each clinic ends with voluntary competitions.

A guardian must remain on site during the clinic. Participants must be able to swim 10 feet without touching the bottom and be comfortable going under water.

Here’s a schedule of the remaining clinics:

July 23: 5:30-7:30 p.m., Wells Street Beach, Gary

July 24: 5:30-7:30 p.m., Wells Street Beach, Gary.

Pop-up clinics

July 20: 2-4 p.m., Portage River Walk Park
