ServiceMaster L.P., the diversified industrial-cleaning firm based in Downers Grove, said fourth-quarter earnings slipped, but it posted a modest increase in earnings for the full year.
For the quarter, the firm`s earnings declined 25 percent, to $22 million, or 45 cents a share, from $29.4 million, or 62 cents a share, a year earlier. The per-share earnings reflect the company`s 3-for-2 stock split Jan. 15, officials said.
For the year, ServiceMaster`s profit rose 3 percent, to $85.9 million, or $1.78 a share, from $83.1 million, or $1.75 a share, in 1990. Revenues grew to $2.1 billion from $1.8 billion.
